Exhibitions

For more than twenty years, our studio has been dedicated to creating jewellery inspired by Slovakia’s cultural heritage. During this time, we have travelled through numerous regions, discovered their stories and explored the richness of our shared culture.

It was from the desire to share these stories that our first exhibition, The Jeweled Journey Through Slovakia, was born. Over the course of two years, it was seen by more than 34,000 visitors. It showed us that exhibitions can not only engage people, but also help them understand the importance of preserving and protecting our cultural heritage.

That is why we want to continue creating exhibitions. In cooperation with the Petra Toth Foundation, we are preparing projects that bring together visual art, contemporary design and historical sources. We want to create space for projects that can make a real difference.

The Jeweled Journey Through Slovakia

January 2025 - present

The Jeweled Journey Through Slovakia is a project that brings the work of the Petra Toth studio together into one cohesive whole. We travelled 12,831 kilometres and created 159 types of jewellery and products inspired by the communities we visited.

The exhibition The Jeweled Journey Through Slovakia features photographs of 25 traditional costumes from the 25 regions we visited. The lost Mikovský costume with its cross-stitch embroidery, the Liptov symbol of happiness and love, lace from traditional caps, blue-print textiles, ornaments from fur coats, plate-like decorations and many other embroidery motifs used by women to decorate their traditional costumes in different regions. We discovered all of this in our beautiful country and transformed it into earrings, bracelets and rings that have found their owners.

Not everything that disappears remains lost.
A joint exhibition of traditional costumes from the former villages of Lešť and Turie Pole, from the collection of Daniela Šuleková, and jewellery by the Petra Toth studio, inspired by their embroidery.

Our exhibition pays tribute to two villages whose cultural heritage bears the scars of displacement and forced change. It brings closer the lives of the people, their customs and the beauty of the local folk culture that evolved here over centuries, but was disrupted in the 1950s in connection with the establishment of the Lešť military district.
